The "Chenil de la Jardinière" is a small
privately owned kennel in Louveigné, Belgium. It was
established in May 1969.
This kennel is owned by a cousin, Freddy Gilles and his
wife Jeannine. Their kennel has been in operation for more
than 30 years, producing many National Champions, both in the
European conformation ring and working trials.
In 1975 all top winning dogs in the RCBA National
championship (Belgium) were dogs bred from his
Kennel. He has been a working dog Trial Judge for
many years, and understands both the working ability and beauty of
the breed.
With little formal training, his keen eye has enabled him
to continue breeding dogs of beauty and soundness to this
day.
Mr. Freddy Gilles
has had over 150 first place winnings in national competition, and
has trained dogs accomplishing perfect scores in
Schutzhund.
He is still the
highest placing record holder in the RCBA (The National Belgian
German Shepherd Club) for a Belgian registered dog in the SV Sieger
Show. He was also the breeder and handler.
We are fortunate
to have the opportunity to learn from him, and this is a very
valuable connection for any breeder to have, especially as dog
breeding is a very competitive field.
We are privileged
and honored that he has allowed us to import some of his wonderful
lines to breed and train here in the US, and through his tutoring we
have established a kennel based on the European practice.
We continue to travel to
Louveigné, Belgium as often as we can to learn from him, attend
national and regional working and conformation shows, and steep in
the wisdom that has developed this great breed.
